Linn and Johnson County libraries will make reading a social activity this summer with #CorridorReads. Beginning May 24, participating libraries in the two counties will use the #CorridorReads hashtag when posting on their social media platforms with the goal of generating more engagement amongst libraries and their patrons, increasing awareness of libraries throughout the Corridor. Join us for fun reading challenges, crafts, games, story times, concerts and other amazing programs as we challenge our community to read, relax and ROCK! Sign ups will begin online and in person starting on June 1st at 9:30 am. Our Morning Genealogy Junkies group provides an opportunity for anyone interested in genealogy to get together with peers to learn and to share research tips and tricks. The group meets on Thursday morning each week. Bring a laptop or tablet computer, or check out one of the library's laptops from the Information Desk. Explore our online resources such as Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest, and our historical newspapers. Everyone is welcome! Contact Jo at the library at jpearson@cityofmarion.org with questions.

Join us for a fun and social story time geared especially for children ages 0-18 months. We read a story and then do bounces and songs to get your baby's mind and body working and then allow everyone to wind down and socialize while playing with fun early literacy toys. Program usually runs 15-30 minutes!

Council meets in work sesson the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 4:00 in Council Chambers at City Hall. Regular session meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the Thursday following each work session. The meeting schedule may change if the scheduled meeting falls on a holiday. Visit the City's website for additional information about the City Council.

Headed to Marion by Moonlight? Hanging out at the Uptown Getdown? Cool off for a bit and stop by the library for a hands-on, teens-only activity. We'll be making candy sushi, playing minute-to-win-it games, coding robots, crafting Harry Potter wands, and more. This program is for incoming 6th - 12th graders only! For other activities the whole family can enjoy together, check out our weekly Family Time program at the library every Monday from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
